Ogun Government Slams Portable For Attacking Officials, Calls Him A Rascal

The Ogun State government has strongly condemned popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, for launching an attack on its officials, labeling him a “serial dissident” and “unrepentant rascal.” Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information and Strategy, revealed in a statement on Friday that Portable has a disturbing history of assaulting government officials without provocation.

According to Akinmade, the latest attack—allegedly led by Portable and his gang—against government officials carrying out their lawful duties is both “barbaric and unacceptable.”

“We are profoundly taken aback by the unpleasant and uncivil act of the Hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, in Iyana-Ilogbo, where his bar is located,” Akinmade stated.

He further described the attack as a disgrace to the state and a reflection of the erosion of moral values.

Governor Dapo Abiodun has vowed that no individual—regardless of social status or influence—will be spared from facing the full wrath of the law for violating state regulations.

Meanwhile, nine of Portable’s followers were arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, on Thursday for allegedly assaulting officers from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The government has assured that all those involved will be held accountable, reinforcing its commitment to upholding law and order in the state.
