Newly Wedded Couple, Parents, Guests Scamper For Safety As Fire Razes Wedding Reception Hall In Lagos

 

Yard 158, venue of a wedding reception for a newly wedded couple has reprotedly gutted fire on Saturday.

The reception hall is believed to be one of the classy event centres located in Oregun, Ikeja area of Lagos and majorly used by high profile personalities with financial backbone to shoulder its cost.

It was however a sad tale for the client who decided to choose the venue for entertainment of their guests after a colourful solemnization of Holy Matrimony in Church.

According to a viral video of the incident, the newlywed and their parents have barely settled-in to attend to their guests when the fire broke out from nowhere.

The couple and their parents were quickly evacuated from the hall while the guests escaped through different ways to avoid a major disaster.

The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained as there is no official statement from the management of the event centre.

The incident is coming ten years after a similar occurence was recorded at Balmoral Hall, another event centre directly opposite the Yard 158 in the same Oregun road.

Balmoral Hall was in 2013 gutted by fire during a wedding reception as couple, parents and their guests scampered for safety.

For several months after the incident, the hall was abandoned, by its management.

This was reportedly due to the extent of damage the fire outbreak had caused to the hall.
