Hundreds of youths and women took to the streets to protest the persistent killing of residents
Southern Kaduna had over time witnessed persistent killings with the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, recently revealing that he paid some Fulani herdsmen to forestall peace, a disclosure that resulted in heavy criticisms.
The curfew was imposed by the chairman of Jema’a local government area in state, Dr Bege Katuka, according to Leadership.
Kafanchan, the commercial nerve-centre of southern Kaduna, is the headquarters of Jema’a local government area.
The report says that hundreds of youths, women and children took to the streets in the morning of Monday, 19 December, 2016 to protest the continued attacks and killing of residents by suspected herdsmen.
